SATO is a worldly renowned Japanese Prima Donna. Since her sensational debut as
Violetta in La Traviata, she has continued to sing, among many others,
the title roles of Tosca, Madame Butterfly. Her appearance as Micaela
in Carmen at the Viennese States Opera was extremely well received. Likewise,
her Mahler with the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Broadcast under Sir Colin
Davis as well as Mozart with Symphony Orchestra of the Radio Berlin were also
highly acclaimed. She enjoys the utmost confidence of such conductors as Christoph
Eschenbach, Seiji Ozawa, Eliahu Inbal a.s.o. The highlights of her recent activities
were Verdi's Requiem with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Madame Butterfly
with Victoria States Opera, which she performed with Jose Cura. In November 1998,
She sang Madame Butterfly at the Viennese States Opera and made a title
role debut at this prestigious opera house. She has won the Japan Cultural Broadcasting
Music Award, the Metropolitan Cultural Honor Award, the Giraud Grand Opera Prize,
the Mademoiselle Perfume Prize etc.
